Seaworld - no pictures

I didn't take the big cameras so they wouldn't get wet - but I tried to take a few photos with my new camera phone - realized later that James had put it on video / camcorder option so that didn't work very well. I took one disposable camera that I used for the whale show. I ended up buying the adventure family photo by the fountain so we could have something.

Book Fair and Book Swap

Last week I volunteered 2 mornings before work at the book fair. It was very busy. Jamie went on a field trip one day but we looked briefly before she had to leave. We only bought 3 books - one was for her teacher. Definitely different from chairing the book fair in the past. They had a cash register and they didn't care if I made mistakes. So it worked out.

Jamie said they also had a book swap in the library this week. She went through one or two shelves and picked out 15 books (actually she picked more but I saved them for Anne). Today she brought home 15 "new" books. She was very excited. And it was "free".

Looking back

I spent some time looking at my scrapbooks with Michelle and Sha. Here is the page about Jamie at the pond.

Jamie picked out Anne's pooh bear robe and booties for after her bath.
Sit up and smile Anne!

Sha said this smiley is a photo op for Aunt Marti!

Reading books

Since it's a holiday weekend, we spent some time reading. I read during Anne's morning nap - Recipes and Wooden Spoons from the Guideposts. Jamie and I read American Girl's short story - "Brave Emily" together last night.

Disney store/Sleeping beauty

Jamie - Sleeping Beauty

I love the Disney store - especially when everything is 1/2 price. We got Jamie a Sleeping Beauty bathing suit and Tinkerbell swim goggles. Hope to get a picture of her today.

Summer Grilling

We are enjoying the grill - kabobs with meat, squash, zucchini and pineapple.
Foil dinners with meat, potatoes and carrots. Hamburgers today! YUM!

Shop until you Drop

Saturday afternoon after Michelle and I dropped Jamie off at the party, we went to Lakeline Mall for 4 hours. We stayed longer due to the thunderstorm. We spent a lot of time browsing at the Disney store. Anne took a nap in the stroller. We also went to TMobile and got local phone #s. I got another new camera phone as an upgrade. More technology I don't know how to use yet. I have to reprogram all my #s.

Colds

Since we braved the cool pool, now all the girls have colds and sore throats. Anne slept a lot today. Jamie went to a birthday party for a friend yesterday and then a sleepover (where they don't sleep at all). We rested and read a lot today. I couldn't get the camera to download - battery died - so will have to post pictures another day.

Events

Jamie has had several events during the month of May. I went to all of them last year since we had just moved here and I was available. This year I work in the middle of the day and have missed alot. We drove by last week during Soaring Skyward day but it was too windy to get the balloon up - they put it in the gym sideways for the kids to walk in. Today was Field Day and Jamie was very red in the face from the heat when she got home. We took her to the pool to cool off. It was pleasant sitting in the shade while Anne napped. Next Friday is the 4th grade talent show and Jamie hopes to perform in a skit with friends. It is in the morning so I may see some of it.

Anne going to the pool

Anne in her new bathing suit (size: 12 months old - barely fits her)!

Anne in her new blue car float. It was the only one we could find that she could sit in - last minute.

Daddy and Anne

Michelle and Jamie played in the pool both Thursday and Friday night.

The Pond

Square dancing was cancelled on Tuesday so I took Anne to my special oasis at the pond. I used to take Jamie here for picnics when she was little.
Rainbow in the fountain on the pond!

Recorder Festival

Monday night Jamie was in the All City Recorder Festival (after several practices).

High School Musical Karoke on the Wii

Last weekend Jamie and Michelle spent 2 hours singing together. I loved this image.

Wii - jackpot!

Drum set (We are ready for you Marti!) I couldn't find the guitar to take a picture this early.

Michelle trying out Wii fit - lots of options - (this was the ski jump).

Jamie and James

James - hula hooping - haha!

My in-laws bought a Wii recently so now James wants one too. I saw an ad on Facebook from a friend at church who was selling his whole set at a discounted price! I didn't realize all that was included until they brought it home Tuesday - Guitar Hero, Rock Band 2 which is a wireless drum set, Wii Sports and Wii Fit. We got a really good deal on it and everyone is excited to try it. They spent hours playing it while I updated photos on my blog. Sorry for the overload. I finally feel caught up! Of course, I couldn't sleep much (woke up at 1:30 am). The night before, Anne (and I) got to sleep about 9-10hrs.

Spinach cheese dip

We are trying to find some veggie mix-in recipes - this was delicious - takes just like the Olive Garden appetizer! This was our 2nd time making it in a week.

16 ounces cream cheese, softened
1 cup mild cheddar cheese, shredded (we used colby jack)
1/2 cup sour cream
1/4 cup parmesan cheese, grated
1/4 tsp black pepper, ground
3 cloves garlic (we used minced)
5 ounces of spinach, chopped, frozen, drained, and squeezed dry (the 2nd time we used puree)
1/2 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded

It is green - so we can use it for St. Patrick's Day next year!

Popovers

Popover Recipe in Family Fun cookbook and one of Sha's friends had it on her blog.

Preheat oven to 400 degrees.

Put in blender (or Michelle likes to whisk):

4 eggs, 1 1/2 cups flour, 2 cups milk, 1/4 tsp salt, 1 tbsp oil

Turn on blender for 10 seconds, scoop down flour on sides, blend it another 20 seconds.

Butter muffin tins very well (or use muffin cups)

Pour batter in tins, not quite full. Bake 25-30 minutes.

Enjoy with cinnamon and sugar (or apple butter or strawberry jam)

Use a skewer to poke each one! It is fun to see them Pop over!

YUMMY!

Anne - photo fun

Anne was playing with her discovery ball until the camera flash popped up!
Ladybug outfit - one of our favorites from when Jamie was little! Anne is 6 months old!

Jamie gave Anne the cheezit box - Sha says photo op! Poor Anne can't have those yet!

Little Annie - I'm the Little Sister! Practicing sitting up - just for the picture.
