Edward Jones recommendation

We met Alexander Henley from Edward Jones about a month ago at a college savings seminar at Murchison Middle School. His neighbor is Principal Cartwright. He is our new financial adviser. We had a lot of old accounts scattered in different places that he helped us gather together. We also finally opened up a 529 college savings plan for the girls which can be used by them or us for education. He also reminds us that our retirement should be our first priority. There is a location right across the street from the school which is very convenient. Plus he is having a grand opening at his new location that we will be attending soon. He just moved this week to the new office.

He is having another informational seminar at Murchison Middle School on May 17th - time to be announced. I told him that I would recommend him and let others know. Hope you can be there.

Fairy Godmother Academy pictures

Fairy Godmother Academy
We had such a good time at the Fairy Godmother Academy day meeting Jan Bozarth and dressing up and doing the fashion show. Jamie loves to dance and be in the spotlight! They interviewed her and she said her Fairy Godmothers are her grandmothers. The books are full of dreams and adventures. You can order paperbacks online for about $6.99 at www.fairygodmotheracademy.com. We have 3 out of the 6 she is still writing.

Egg hunts

Apr 24, 2011
The grand kids hunted for eggs first.
Teresa's friend, Stephen, hid them really well - some way up high. Then the kids hid the eggs for the adults. James found his last. Jamie hid them really hard. He was the weiner!
Then we got to eat! Last they had the confetti egg war!

Real robin egg

James found a real robin egg in the grass and Lucas posed with it.

More treats

Grandma Jacky had more treats - chocolate bunnies at her house. And a friend of Teresa's made real chocolate eggs and peanut butter ones too.

Easter morning

James made our special tradition - Easter bunny pancakes for breakfast.
When I got home from church this morning, Jamie read the real Easter story to Anne.

We had baskets full of toys and candy. Jamie found Texas size jellybeans for her dad! We found a whole section of fun Lisa Frank toys at the dollar store last weekend. Then toys at Walmart and more goodies at the dollar store at the mall.

Easter eve

We finally got the box of Easter stuff down and the girls posed in their bunny ears. Jamie helped decorate the table. I fixed the baskets while she slept yesterday but she wanted to arrange them all. Easter eve is like Christmas eve! Anne was so happy! She ate a lot of chocolate.

Saturday egg hunt

egg hunt

We hosted an egg hunt in Marilyn's neighborhood on Saturday morning. Jamie found the golden egg and won a basketball Easter basket. She wants to play in the backyard! It was hot and Jamie had to rest when we got home. Ran a fever all night.

Marilyn and Me

I am trying to help Marilyn reach out to her neighbors since she has reached out to me. She calls me her sister!

We shopped for hours on Thursday night and again on Friday. One special thing we found was this black dress that Jamie wore on Friday night. Michelle did her hair and makeup. Marilyn invited a bunch of people over on Friday night to end our fast and we ate a ton of food. She was kind enough to invite my niece and her boyfriend to eat with us after service. Jamie was up too late though until almost 11pm.

Getting ready for Easter

Anne loved getting ready for Easter - making cookies and eating them. And stuffing eggs and unstuffing them.

Palm Sunday pictures

Jamie wore a dress for the first time in a long time. She found a dress that matched mine. Anne wore one of Jamie's Easter hats from when she was little. Anne was given a palm branch at church and they said Jesus walked the halls and visited the classrooms.

On Saturday Jamie and I went to the girl scout office to meet the author Jan Bozarth who is writing the new series Fairy Godmother Academy. Lots of adventure and dreams! We had a great time - dancing, dressing up, making dream books, eating gs cookies, having a fashion show. They also have a website and hope to post interviews on it soon. www.fairygodmotheracademy.com

Yellow Riding Hood

Jamie had to write a fractured fairy tale and she picked Little Yellow Riding Hood. We found her yellow riding hood from many years ago in the closet and took a current photo. haha

Roses spring 2011

It's time to stop and smell the roses again in our front yard.

Student of the Month

Anne and I went to clap this morning for Jamie's award - student of the month!

Club 56 girls

We went for a walk and took pictures of God's wonders. Our girls were the first pics.

Bluebonnets Spring April 2011

Bluebonnets 2011
We tried to find a bluebonnet patch on the way home from strawberry picking. It was a very windy day.

Strawberry picking

Strawberry picking

We got up early on Saturday morning to beat the heat and go pick strawberries at Sweetberry Farms in Marble Falls. Jamie said it was one of her favorite birthday traditions.

Babysitting Benjamin

Benjamin April 2011

We had fun watching Benjamin this weekend while his parents were on a church retreat. He went swimming in the baby pool with Anne. And he enjoyed the strawberries! He fell asleep before we made it to the bluebonnet field but he was there!

Biography

I have been working long days/weeks on pictures! Still have more work to do but we have been short on staff. My supervisor worked on our biographies this week to post in the classrooms.
