Back to School night

Jamie and I met her 4th grade homeroom teacher, Mrs. Newberry, Thursday afternoon. We did a lot of shopping over the last few weeks and were able to leave all her school supplies there. Jamie is going to take the bus this year. We got a copy of the block schedule and she will be changing classes at least twice. She has Mrs. Sawtelle for science and Mrs. Johnson for math. Hope to meet them in September. I am attending a substitute teacher orientation on Sept 9th.

Moms in Touch

I met with Laura Buffington on Wednesday morning and we are going to pray every week for our kids and Summitt Elementary School. I miss my mom friends in VA. Praying Good News Club is able to continue on with Angie's great leadership.

Big Machines

Thursday Jamie went out to Aunt Christine's land with her cousins and they were able to explore and take pictures on the big machines that are clearing the land. See the Haunsperger link/blog on the right for pictures.

Children in Action

Children in Action started last Wednesday night at church. Jamie has been excited collecting items for Christmas in August for the missionaries. I'm looking forward to a mid-week inspirational message and getting back into a routine.

Heart to Heart

Michelle Roberts lead our Heart to Heart women's group at church on Tuesday night with lots of fun games. She was full of spirit. It was fun to meet people and learn some secrets about each one. At the end of the night, all the ladies laid hands on me and prayed for my glucose test on Wednesday morning. After 3+ hours at the lab, they called and said I do not have gestational diabetes - praise God for answered prayers.

Olympics 2008

We are praying for the people of China during the Olympics. I finally got to watch some swimming and gymnastics last night. I feel out of touch. I need to find time to watch the opening ceremonies that were taped for me while I was out of town. My mom loved the Olympics and I miss her so much. She would have loved to see Michael Phelps win all those gold medals for the USA!

Highland Lakes Church Camp

We went on an overnight trip with our church August 8th and 9th. The kids had fun riding in the van. Jamie liked kayaking with Ms. BJ. Emily was full of energy and kept us going. I didn't get pictures but there was an awesome speaker - Dennis Lee - who put on 4 great shows with puppets. The time flew by! BJ got a golf cart and gave me rides around the camp. It took me a few days to recover from the heat and excitement.

Seaworld - Ski show was awesome!

Bowling

I didn't take the camera with us but I wish we had the video camera. We went bowling Sunday and had a lot of fun. We didn't bowl all that well but it was nice to do something different. James' shoe got stuck on the lane and his fingers got stuck in the ball and he landed hard on his knee. Even with all that happening, he got a strike!

Sprinklers!

Jamie and Emily had a great day!

Happy Birthday Kris!

My friend from church invited us out to Bastrop State Park for her birthday celebration. It was very hot - so there were lots of water guns and water balloons and finally, a dip in the pool!

Summer Musical

Jamie loved the ladies rainbow eyelashes. Aunt Teresa had several friends involved with the musical and she supports them every year.
