Dr Visit

We have had odd things wrong again. Anne has a poison ivy rash on her hand from her dad. The dr wanted to check the rash but after looking at both of them - that's what it is. Anne and I have colds and coughs again too.

My new best friend

I have been praying a long time for a friend. Marilyn Monroe says she'll be my new best friend. She has a lot of drama in her life too so she understands me. She has been planning lots of social events for our common ground Sunday School class. She encouraged me to try and have a game night at church even though not many folks showed up - several were out of town.
We also sing in choir together. One of my new year's resolutions! Marilyn is a great cook and teaches cooking lessons. She makes a lot of the church's Wed night dinners. She has invited us over 2 Friday nights to eat and hang out. She loves kids and doesn't mind making mac & cheese and plain rice for us. I have more pictures on my phone - she set a lovely table this weekend with rose china and rose colored glasses. The first time we had an informal dinner with chili. This time she made fried rice and teriyaki chicken. We eat lots of chocolate too. We made brownies and turned them into awesome brownie sundaes. Taking life one day at a time.

Every Day is your Birthday

My coworkers surprised me for my 1/2 birthday and decorated my cart. They made a 3 layer chocolate cake! It was awesome!

Painting

On Sunday, January 9th, my mom's birthday, we painted for over an hour. The girls really enjoyed it and it helped me remember good times. We painted again the next Sunday, January 16th. I pulled out the long easel paper so she could keep changing colors. We were at a cookie booth the next Sunday or we could have done it again. It's very relaxing.

Girl Scout cookies

We have been super busy selling girl scout cookies this week. Jamie took orders for 130 boxes. We are still collecting. We wore her cadette vest for the first time. She is getting so tall - 5 ft 1 in. I just realized the picture must be on my camera phone. Will post later. Anne is sleeping in so I'm trying to catch up some. Pictures are blurry but better than nothing.

Choice Sheet Night

Last Tuesday we went to choice sheet night and Jamie wants to take Chinese for 2 years. She loves her Chinese teacher. She also wants to take Theater Arts and an Exploring Careers class if available. She does not want to continue band or dance. So we'll be returning the sax this summer. It has been a busy emotional decision making time.

Riverwalk and Tower of Americas

New Year's Eve 2010/New Year's Day 2011 We enjoyed dinner, the Christmas lights, the music and the hot tub. We loved the waterfalls around the Tower of Americas too.
