It's Raining, It's Pouring . . . Pool Time

Finally got in the pool this afternoon and then it poured. We decided to stay in and play anyway. Sang songs and got Charles to take pictures. Then he took a turn in the rain with the umbrella. Might as well!

Friends and Chocolate!

A got a call from a friend this week saying she was in Texas visiting family and would like to stop by for a visit. We were neighbors in VA a long time ago. She came to see me when Jamie was first born. Then they moved to CA with the military. Now they are being transferred again. We went out to lunch at the newly opened Golden Corral and we showed them the 4 tier chocolate fountain. My friend took a few pictures of us together with her awesome camera. Hope to see them on facebook when she gets back home. For now here is one picture of the fountain we took on our first trip there with the aunts earlier this month. I haven't planned a whole lot this summer - just leaving things open and God keeps sending ideas and friends. James is now off for a week and we hope to do a few fun things with the kids.

More birthdays!

My friend Laura invited us over for her kids' birthday party on Wednesday. She has a huge backyard. There was an awesome cake with animals ordered from Round Rock Donuts. Sparkles the clown was there to entertain us. She painted all their faces; Jamie got a swan, Ella was a princess, several girls got rainbow butterflies, the boys got dragons and Anne got a butterfly stamped on her arm. Sparkles did a magic show and made balloon animals; Jamie requested a unicorn. There were 2 other older girls there; one was the sister to the clown. We talked about how much fun it would be to have a clown family business. While there a lady asked how I knew Laura, and I said we met through Moms in Touch. There is a group of ladies whose kids are going into kindergarten that would like to pray with her. We are excited. I am still praying for another mom to pray with me for the middle school. It's going to be hard to find time when I'm working full-time and going to night school. But God will help me to find a way! Another good friend of Laura's whom she has known for 25 years was there with her kids and served the food and cake and helped with pictures. She was a real blessing. Made me remember my old friends back home. The afternoon ended with a huge water balloon fight.

Sha's birthday

Michelle cut Sha's hair 11 inches for her birthday! Hope to get that picture downloaded soon. WOW!

Michelle's birthday

Michelle and Sha gave us a Barnes and Noble gift card (Fancy Nancy) as well as one from Aunt Teresa. So we made a trip to the store and met Michelle there on her birthday this past Monday. She helped with Anne so Jamie could pick out some books - along with her free one for reading 8 books so far this summer. Then we went to Five Guys burgers and fries. And onto Amy's ice cream. We enjoyed spending time with Michelle. We dropped off Anne at the house and continued to the mall. Jamie rode the carousel and we picked out fun hair flower clips from Claire's for each of us. Wednesday we saw Michelle again and went to Walmart for new lipsticks. She showed me how to get to Strait Music and we worked on the paperwork for renting a clarinet for band. I'm so glad she was there to help us figure everything out.

My Birthday

We pulled out the chocolate fountain for the birthday week. My nieces gave us each a Godiva chocolate bar. Jamie got a float for the pool for us. And she made me a friendship bracelet with MOM sewed on it; she woke up at 1 am and it took her about 5 hours. Aunt Christine made me a beautiful afghan out of the grapevine yarn I gave her at Christmas; I have had it for about 20 years. I had a flat tire on my actual birthday but AAA came right out and put on a spare and I was able to get it fixed quickly. Went in the pool and relaxed some. James stopped by the store on his way home from work and brought me a single red rose, a chocolate bar and a singing card!

Storytime

Today is Eric Carle's birthday. We went to toddler story time at Wells Branch Library last Friday and today. Last year it was the only one close by that had a baby story time. I enjoy the songs, signs, and stories. It is a peaceful way to spend the summer. We also made it to the Milwood Library story time on Tuesday. Pictures to be posted later.

Fairy cupcake village

These are pictures of a cupcake village me and my daughter created together out of a family fun magazeine. It took us 2 hours just to decorate. I wonder how long it will take to eat it.

I Like it When . . . You Hold My Hand

With all the changes and sickness, it helps when your sister just holds your hand. And when I was the model for Michelle's final and had to take off my glasses, she led me by the hand to get my hair washed. I like it when Jamie and Anne let me hold their hands as well. It makes me feel loved.

Variety of Fun

Anne found the car first! Then the grocery store with the little carts. Jamie loved air hockey the best and played everyone a few times including me! The cousins took Anne into several inflatables including the one with the slide; her dad couldn't believe the picture. Overall, we had a great time playing all day.

Locomotion Inflatable Play

We tagged along with Aunt Teresa and the cousins to their playgroup to spend Lucas' birthday making a memory at Locomotion Inflatable Play located down south. It was awesome. The kids had a great time and the babies took naps and we had pizza and kept on going for 6 hours.

Pool

Immediately following the lemonade stand event, we went in the pool!! I love my pool right in the backyard. Instant relaxation and cool waters as well as beach music.

Our faithful family supporters

Thank you to Aunt Teresa and the cousins for coming out to support Jamie's dream.

Lemonade Stand

Jamie has begged me to do a lemonade stand for years. Today was the day!

Austin Science and Nature Center

We found the science and nature center near the gardens. We explored a little bit. Saw some animals - coyote, fox, etc.
