Bread
Every time it snowed, mom made homemade bread. I make it in the bread machine now but I love the smell of it. We ate some warm bread with butter right before bed. Comfort food!

Anne has had a high fever off and on all weekend. It spiked up to 105 and we went to the children's hospital emergency room but it was so busy we gave up 4 hours later and came home and went to bed. We have a dr appt this morning. No sleep again.
On Thursday we went to the nursing home with the girl scouts and played board games with some of the residents. On Saturday I went to another nursing home and met a lady and her mother from our church. We are trying to help out with Touches of Grace.
Last week I helped the classes paint the hands and feet of most of the kids in the daycare and we had a big Friendship Party at work on Thursday at noon with the teen moms and the mentoring moms. Then I drove straight to Jamie's school Valentines' Party. Only 8 out of 28 kids passed out card Valentines. (She made a Valentine box but we used it at home instead.) Most of the kids opted to bring a $5 gift and exchange it while Mrs. Fleming read a story full of left and right direction changes - there was lots of chocolate. Jamie traded a heart full of chocolate for a giant Hershey's kiss.
We don't watch the Super Bowl but we wanted to have the fun party food so Friday afternoon we took the kids to the grocery store. James asked a lady how to pick out good avocados and he made the guacamole dip for the 2 of us. Jamie had looked at her cookbook before we went and wanted to make limeade so we let her pick out limes. We ended up with a lot of green things - made me feel like it was St. Patrick's Day instead.
Anne is 15 months old now. She has been watching one of our favorite videos - "I feel like a Giggle" with Uncle Charles. She loves the song "What do you think of that hat?!" She has learned the word hat very well now and wants to wear her hat all the time. She also likes to do the "shhh" sign from another song. She is learning so much and loves to repeat what we say.
Jamie has been reading nonstop as much as we let her. She is getting closer to her goal of 5,000 pages.
Uncle Charles has been on the Medifast diet for a month now. He has lost about 24 pounds. He is looking forward to sugar free jello for his birthday celebration next weekend. He has done really well.
Aunt Christine went on a cruise on the Carnival Fantasy to Mexico with her coworkers and housemates at Down Home Ranch. It was a little cold and windy but she survived. We celebrated Aunt Christine's birthday last night. She requested lasagna and pineapple upside down cake. I made her a batch of oatmeal butterscotch cookies. It was also the science expo night at Jamie's school. Jamie got a 100 on her seashell collection. Aunt Christine came and showed how to turn wool into yarn on the drop spindle. Grandma, Aunt Teresa and the boys came to look around. Lucas and Jamie saw many fun exhibits - like laser lights, roller coasters, catapults, robots, space elevator, etc. Hope to download pictures this weekend. I also got to meet Jamie's best friend Summer's mom.
