Girl Scout event - Pink Beads of Love

Saturday morning a couple of the girl scouts got together to work on the pink beads of love bracelets.

Annie's fall festival

Annie's daycare/school had a fall festival complete with train and petting zoo. I asked off early from work so I could see her for a few minutes. She wanted her face painted like a black cat - just like Katelyn did last weekend. It was cold outside! Then I was off to work the craft show cleanup with Jamie at church.

Halloween costumes

Jamie picked a leopard outfit this year - found it at Goodwill. Found leopard pants in Anne's box of clothes from various friends. Funny! They love their cool glasses! They wore the outfits to square dancing and will wear them again to the pumpkin party on Monday night at church.

Evergreen Farms Pumpkin Patch Hunt

Pumpkin patch Evergreen Farms

We went for an adventure to Evergreen Farms in Elgin. We went on the pumpkin patch hunt to find the mini pumpkins in the Christmas trees. Marilyn organized the trip for our Common Ground/church family. It was fun! We were there longer than we expected. Jamie had fun playing and singing with Katelyn and Rachel in the van. Growing up!

Rain!

Rain Baby

It finally rained here. Anne insisted we go out in it. I found a raincoat and boots that I friend had given us. Anne went and put her head under the water falling off the roof. She got soaked! She laughed and laughed and did it again.

Moon flower

James has been looking every night in the garden to catch the moon flowers opening. They are so beautiful.

Crutches, McDonalds monopoly and yard sale

Jamie had a minor accident on Thursday and fell over another kid on the ground during gym class. Her foot swelled up while we were at McDonalds' playground and she started hopping all around. James likes playing the monopoly game during October at McDonalds. Anyway, James took her to the dr on Friday morning, his birthday, because he had the day off. They did an xray and are not sure if it's a growth plate issue or a stress fracture so she has to go back again in a week to xray it again. Pray it's a growth issue that will close over time or else she has to wear a boot cast for 6 weeks. She found the crutches in the garage and is supposed to be resting/elevating her foot. But she doesn't like to miss anything. Our friend Marilyn had a yard sale today that she told Jamie she could take part in so we set up and let her try. She did pretty well.

James' birthday and the cakes

I found a picture of a fun cake to make in one of the many magazines my sister Marti sent me. It was an M&M baseball hat cake. So we made a little strawberry one. Anne loves mixing and helping. It took over an hour to cover it in M&Ms and we got carried away and forgot to leave any white space. He wanted a chocolate strawberry marble type cake so we made a huge rectangle one and covered it with chocolate frosting. And his mother and Anne made another square cake with a funny face on it. We invited the Littlestars to meet us for dinner at Golden Corral and it was almost 7:30 but we still made it.
