First week of School

I volunteered in the middle school office on Tuesday afternoon for a couple hours. The TV was on the whole time about the earthquake. I am thankful my sister told me about it before I went in. There are some great office aides to help out. I got to meet quite a few people. The first week of school has gone by fast. Jamie asked if I would come for lunch one day before I start working again. So Anne and I went on Thursday for a few minutes to see her and the lunch bunch. The girls are having a sleepover tonight for a birthday. Thankful for friends!

Earthquake

My sister texted me on Tuesday to let me know the house was shaking in Richmond. I called her right away. Thank God for protecting my family.

A Day in the life of me . . .

I am trying to find a good job and research daycare for Anne. When I called a school last week, the director suggested I apply to work there. After going through the paperwork and interview, I did an observation yesterday. Anne came with me and went into a classroom to visit and play. She has a bad cold and had a fever last night. Our summer vacation is over! And I decided not to take that job.

First Day of School

Jamie let us walk her to the corner and then she was off to the bus stop alone.

Super Saturday

Jamie and I went to Super Saturday today and got her 7th grade schedule. It was easier to locate classrooms now that she has been there for a year. She is looking forward to theater with Callie and Chinese with Ms. Stringfellow. Tonight they have a sleepover at Maddy's house. Next weekend is Amanda's birthday and sleepover. Busy times!

Tax Free Shopping Weekend

On Friday, my friend Marilyn took her 3 granddaughters shopping at the Outlet Mall and other stores. Marilyn knows how to find the sales and clearance racks. She took Jamie with her. They had a blast shoe shopping. She came home with 3 pairs of Converse sneakers and a pretty pair of sandals for church. Jamie had fun modeling for me when she got home. Found out it was Marilyn's birthday too. She has been a blessing to me and our family.

Babysitting

God has provided for me with a babysitting job for 3 weeks. I have been at the pool daily with the kids. We used up a ton of bubbles. We are eating healthy snacks. We've seen quite a few new movies. Annie loves the baby dolls. It's been busy.

Alice in Wonderland

On Saturday Jamie auditioned for Alice in Wonderland. She danced, sang, and read scripts. She will be in the chorus and various small roles - one is a royal card. She will be learning all year and the big play will be on her birthday weekend. Hoping she will make new friends and have a new adventure!

Katie Brock started Buzz Productions a few years ago. http://buzzproductions.weebly.com/
Our Pastor's wife helps the kids with singing. My friend Marilyn's daughter Samantha makes scrapbooks. Hope to help and learn as we go along.

School

I forgot to mention that Jamie was blessed with a backpack full of school supplies donated by Dell and given out to the top 40 students in the pre-engineering program. I can't believe school starts next week already. I am going to volunteer in the office for a few hours at MMS once a week. Still waiting on God for a job or a miracle.
