Good Night Hugs

Jamie asked me to get the camera ready for this hug. Took me about 4 tries but here is a good night hug for all to see! Sister love!

Anne's first time at the water park

Last year, I thought this place will be perfect for Anne and it was. She enjoyed spending time with her dad in the covered "baby" pool!

The cousins loved the fountains

Jamie on the Water Slide

Jamie has always been afraid of big water slides. This place was perfect - she was tall enough so her head never went under. She went at least 5 times and asked me to come watch.

Rock N River otherwise known as the Lazy River

The Rock N River is very inexpensive - $4 for adults and $3 for kids. Perfect for us who only want to hang out at the "lazy" river anyway.

Playing in the rain

We were trying to go to the Rock N River in Round Rock early Thursday before it got hot but when we walked out the door it was overcast. By the time we got there, it was pouring. (Every time we plan a water date, it rains!) We found a playground nearby and the kids played and danced in the rain with Grandma. Anne slept in the car and I read a book. I got out at the end and took a few pictures. An hour later at 11 am - the kiddie water park finally opened and the sun did eventually come out. It was a little chilly but we did it anyway!

The Poky Little Puppy quilt book

Aunt Lori and Marti found this cute Poky Little Puppy quilt book and sent it for Jamie (and Grandma) to sew which they did today for one of their craft projects. Anne had fun reading and posing for me. Thanks everybody for loving us!

Michelle and the Model

Michelle has to wear black, white or gray to school every day. Lori found her some pretty shirts on sale at J.C. Penney's.
Me modeling my new hair cut - I am pampered. Thanks Michelle!

I was the model again for Michelle today. It took 3 hours to be graded on each step. She washed and then cut my hair - bangs are short enough again so I can cover the gray! Yeah! She blew it dry and curled it to frame my face. She made a perfect score. She had the hardest head of hair to work with. All the other "models" have long straight hair - mine is the only thick layered one. Michelle is very confident of her skills and did a great job.

Thank you Lady Bird Johnson

There were several paintings of Lady Bird Johnson but I liked this one the best.

The Little House at Lady Bird Johnson's Center

There was a little door for the children to enter the Little House. They loved that door and ran in and out a lot!

Timmy liked all the finger puppets and insisted on one for each finger.

Anne and I read the Very Hungry Catepillar by Eric Carle.

Lucas liked the little sink.

Grandma and Lucas explored all the learning opportunities together.

Lady Bird's wall of photos.

TOWER

The kids enjoyed racing to the top of the tower.

Adventure - Follow the stream

Lucas (and Timmy) really liked the little stream that flowed right through the garden.

Lucas said follow me Aunt Melanie and off he went back to the front of the park to find the stream's beginning and end - it was in the shaded part at least- yeah!

The art of origami - paper folding

Anne and Grandma inspecting the flag.
The flag is made of folded tea roses and beads- worth $2000.

Butterfly origami - the kids learned how to fold paper with Grandma's help.

Posterboard collages were selling for about $185 each. We could make that!

Here is a long wall of colorful butterflies.

Wild Grapes

Grandma jumped up and picked wild grapes for everyone. She tried to lift the boys up but they were still too short. But they found a wall nearby to climb on.

Gardens

Courtyard spring

Yellow bells

Purple coneflower

The gardens were not very big and right in the sun - so we ran through it under the arbor on the sides to the next air conditioned bldg. I tried to take a few flower pictures as we hurried through it.

Inside there was a display with the names of different flowers we might see - my favorite name - the chocolate flower of course.
