Lucas - 1st Tball game

House update

It has been a long week. We lost our "dream" house last Friday. There was a huge tax lien on it and we were forced to terminate the contract. I cried a lot but I have no control over it. We settled for a much smaller one-story house in the same neighborhood. They are replacing a few things and we should be closing on October 20th. We might get moved in about a week or so before the baby is born! Hopefully, I can stay home. I did actually get a call to sub on Friday 1/2 day, but I will be off for 2 months (Nov/Dec) with the new baby. Taking things one day at a time.

Moms together

On Thursdays I joined a group called Moms Together at Hyde Park Baptist Church at the Quarries. Jamie was sick last week so Thursday was my first day. There are several older ladies in their 60s and 70s who teach/mentor the small groups of moms. We are starting with "He Speaks to Me" by Priscilla Shirer. I enjoyed the study a few years ago but I really want to meet other Christian moms here in TX.

Dusty Bottom Club

Jamie went to her 2nd horse lesson on Friday. They practiced trotting. Her horse decided to speed up to a canter and Jamie fell off! She is now an official member of the dusty bottom club. Gave us a scare! Her teacher talked to her and Jamie got right back on that horse. Go Jamie!

Horse lessons

Aunt Christine found Switch Willo stables near by and we got Jamie signed up for beginner horseback riding lessons on Friday nights. Jamie is very excited!

Magic Kingdom

We spent over 1/2 our vacation at Magic Kingdom to make sure Jamie got to see and do everything she wanted. It was great!

Fairy Godmother in training

Princesses!

Cinderella brings her own Fairy Godmother

We wore our costumes to Norway at Epcot for the Princess Storybook lunch and several families asked for Fairy Godmother's autograph. It was fun! It was too hot to wear all day - so we had to pick certain places to wear it.

Fairy Godmother behind the Castle

Parasol

Our first purchase was a purple parasol decorated with flowers, hearts and a unicorn with Jamie's name on it. We used it every day to help keep the sun off our heads.

Characters everywhere

Disney - Grand Floridian hotel

The Grand Floridian hotel was awesome. Very grand indeed: "Too grand for a child", Jamie said but she enjoyed it too. I loved being on the water and having quick transportation directly to the Magic Kingdom. We could ride the monorail or the ferry. We had our beds turned down with chocolates on our pillows every night. Plush towels and robes for our use. There were 2 pools and we went swimming at least once a day/night if not twice. I will miss it!
