Backyard Bible Club - birthday

We celebrated our birthdays - since we are reborn now that we know Jesus! Every day is a holiday because God loves us! Here is a group photo from the last day! There were over 25 kids this week. Jamie had a lot of fun playing games with the kids in the neighborhood.

Eyes

Jamie had an eye checkup this week and this is a note from my sister Marti:

After she was diagnosed with diabetes in December, she went to an eye specialist ...

he checked my eyes and took "pictures" and ran out of film!! He told me --throw away your glasses-you don't need them!!! I do not wear glasses at all now.

I am healed completely--PRAISE THE LORD ! Please add this to the blogger for the glory of God!

I was BLIND but now I see!

Bible club continued

There was a special guest at the end of club - Miles, the therapy dog.

Decker Lake

We went to Decker Lake Wed morning and some of the kids rode the jet ski and the others swam.

Fairy Godmother costume

Jacky has worked on sewing a Fairy Godmother costume for me for many days this week!
Thank you and Happy Birthday Jacky!

Square dancing - many years ago

These are the outfits we wore when we were young when we danced!

Square Dancing - Tuesday night

Jamie danced with Grandma during every break. James and I tried to dance with other partners so we wouldn't break up the square. We haven't danced in about 4-5 years. But we had a really good time!

Timmy

Cousin Timmy preferred the hammock to the horse. Did I also mention there was a bird!?

Jamie on horseback all afternoon

Uncle Travis in his costume spending time with Jamie and the horse. Grandma doing a lot more pulling/leading with horses this time instead of bikes.

Horses in the backyard for the 4th of July

Milwood Parade

The beginning of the parade: Lucas on the cub mobile and Jamie on her bike. She decorated for hours and covered it with 6 flags and tons of streamers. Grandma pushing and pulling!

4th of July

First Jamie and Lucas decorated their bikes/cub mobile and went to a local neighborhood parade. It was complete with fire truck and a moms float and a ton of kids in wagons and on bikes in between. There was even a miniature horse but I couldn't keep up and get a picture. Meemaw walked between them and pushed or pulled as needed to get them to the park. We took home the leftover cookies since I was sitting in the shade with the church folks.

Second Jamie went with her Aunt Teresa and the cousins to the Wells Branch celebration. They rode the train and made crafts. Teresa has pictures of that event.

Third Uncle Travis called when he and his friend finished their parade and brought them all by the house for hamburgers. I think there were over 10 friends besides our family. We made a lot of tea and lemonade. The big surprise was they brought 2 horses to relax and cool off in the backyard. Jamie was on the back of a horse (bareback) for at least 6 hours with a few breaks. They were very gentle horses. They ate the grass in the backyard and apples. There was also a bird - a macaw I think. Blue and yellow - very pretty!

Fourth a lot of us drove out to Rockdale to take the horses home and watch the fireworks Travis set off. Jacky picked mustang grapes and apple/pears. They ordered pizza and we looked at all the stars. We didn't get home until 1 am and went straight to bed. I still need to download all the pictures.

Lace

Jamie spent Tuesday with her grandma working at the food pantry and then making lace.
