Happy Anniversary - December 31st

James could not wait for me to get home today. He presented me with my anniversary gifts a day early. He had a coworker help him set the stones (from the Middle East) into earrings to surprise me. Wow -2 sets - one set blue, one set diamonds. Great way to start our new year.

The Melting Pot adventure

The grand finale was our gift certificates . . . Sha had made reservations for the family to eat at the Melting Pot at 5:45 pm on Saturday night (6 months in advance). We got Marti dressed in green velvet and off we went for a 3 hour plus eating tour with 4 courses! It was delicious!

Saturday, Dec 22nd

Friday night we drove to Richmond to see Marti and our family.
We celebrated Christmas on Saturday. Sha had a stained glass picture necklace made for Jamie. There were so many fun gifts. Lori had several from the Maymont gift shop where she works on weekends and lots of Tinkerbell from Disney.

Friday, Dec 21st

Our first day out of school we went to the Children's Museum with Angel's kids, Gabby, Gavin, Ashton and Aidan; then onto Winter Wonderland to show off our favorite things.

James' Christmas gifts

Christmas gifts from Santa's helper

Jamie enjoyed buying, wrapping and handing out gifts.

The first gift of Christmas - a new camcorder

Christmas

We decided to celebrate Christmas early. Jamie and I can stay in Richmond for the whole next week. So our countdown is over but she is keeping the tradition!

Marti update

Marti is home! The dr discharged her late this afternoon. Please keep her in your prayers. She is still very weak. Hopefully, she will be able to sleep for the first time in a week.

Marti

My sister Marti has been diagnosed with diabetes. She is in ICU at St. Mary's Hospital in Richmond. Her sugar went over 900 and was at the dangerous level. She is down in the 200 range now. She will have to stay in the hospital for a few days. Please keep her in your prayers. Thanks.

Living Nativity

We went to my friend Angie's house where they were acting out a living nativity scene. Jamie wanted to be an angel. Donnie assigned her to be an Angel for the first and second acts. Then she decided to play other parts - she was a wiseman and a shepherd. Mary was already taken - the boys played the Mary part too. Maybe next time!

Good News Club Movie Night

We had over 40 kids at our movie night. They got to wear their pjs. You know I would have loved that but I ran out of time to run home and change. (I'm wearing my pjs all day today as comfort.)

Anyway, there was hot dogs, popcorn and cookies! They watched Veggie Tale movies and then the Jesus film. It was intense. I passed out food and washed the dishes. KP duty! I missed taking pictures. I gave my camera to someone else. I only saw one picture of Jamie - eating and a little crooked but here it is.

Santa Holiday Breakfast at school

Well, as I look back over the photos, I realize I didn't get her picture with Santa. The school got a picture but I was too busy watching Jamie's reaction to the person-who happens to be a teacher at her school and she knew it. That was interesting. Glad we had a talk!

Making Lasana - A Family Event

James had a power point presentation due Tuesday night for one of his classes. We spent all morning making lasagna and taking a lot of pictures. It was very exciting and tasty. We make lasagna (noodles from scratch) every New Year's for our anniversary. Made another yummy memory.

Holiday Lights at the Beach

We took Marti on Sunday night to the Holiday Lights at the Beach. She said she had never been. I got a new camcorder for Christmas from James and I tried to videotape some of the lights for my family. This was the only still picture I took. We made a memory.

The Christmas Tree 2007

Winter Wonderland

The sleeping Santa is one of my favorites. Jamie asked specifically if Santa is real and we talked about St. Nicholas. But the next day she told me she still believes, she just hasn't been good this year. She has a crazy sense of humor. I still believe so it's ok if she does.

Wishing Well

My mom and Jamie collected coins all year so they could make wishes at the wishing well at Coleman's Nursery/Winter Wonderland. Jamie shared with other children too.

Curls

Saturday we had a pampering day. Marti and I spent time getting our hair permed - a gift from our mom. Jamie got her hair curled for the day and her nails painted.
