Caterpillars and butterflies

We had a butterfly speaker and caterpillar guests at girl scout camp today. We learned a lot of new words! The kids got to decorate mini butterfly cakes with icing and sprinkles.

Sunday Jamie spent her rainy day painting her new wooden horse "Black Beauty". She came with the kid kit that she earned thru the Operation Christmas Child readathon. She really enjoyed her afternoon painting.

Wednesday, we had ice cream sundaes at the library and learned a lot of fun ice cream facts and flavors.

Thursday, we went shoe shopping at Target for 2 hrs.
Friday, we played putt putt at an indoor place but it was still hot. We walked to 7 eleven and discovered orange creme slurpees! Yum!
Saturday, we changed plans and went to see Dee Dee. We went to the Seawall Festival and Jamie ate a cinnamon sugar crepe and chocolate ice cream. They played Scrabble! They have enjoyed playing all summer.

Painting Camp

Jamie went to painting camp on Monday and Tuesday at Michael's arts and craft store. She has wrapped up presents for me 24 hrs after it dried and surprised me.

Weekly update - back to work

Well, I started back to work part-time 7-11 am on Thursday, August 16th. It's been busy. We went skating with Angie and Angel's kids that night. All the pictures were blurry! Sorry! The kids kept changing from regular skates to the slide on kind. Made a memory - laughing at them! Angel even went out there with them for awhile. It's not the same at 27 as it is at age 7 she said after she fell! haha!

Saturday night, Jamie and I went to the YMCA pool and enjoyed a concert. Jamie made a lot of silly faces for me. There was a young boy playing guitar and singing really old songs. The guys had several electric guitars and a set of drums. Two of them knew how to play the ukele. I haven’t seen one of those since I was a kid. Just that morning, we found out Jamie’s girl scout friend Genna had asked for a ukele for her birthday. We celebrated with her at Chuck E. Cheese.

Monday Jamie went to her last piano lesson for at least 2 weeks - it's on hold until after school starts and we see how much homework she will have! She will be in a gifted class. Trying to go swimming often before the outdoor pool is closed. We got tickets to Oceanbreeze for Saturday. Lazy river here we come!

Bowling

As a team, we bowled over 400 points. We played 2 games and the kids bowled over 100 points. It was fun! We had not bowled in over a year since I had a rough winter. Now we want to go again of course!

Children's Museum

It's been a busy week. Sunday we went to the Children's Museum with Angel's kids - Ashton and Gavin. Monday, I took mom to pick out new glasses! We went swimming after piano lessons. The water was warm! YUCK!

Tuesday, we took everything out of Jamie's room and cleaned! Wednesday, we went to the Chrysler Museum. I love the Tiffany glass. Thursday, we went to 2 libraries in the morning and bowling in the afternoon! Today we are going to mom's to play Scrabble and help with chores.

Fishing

Jamie was picked to spend the day fishing at Oak Grove Lake Park. She had help catching 4 fish. The team caught over 25 fish this morning. She had fun!

We are 1/2 way thru VBS week. Being the "coach" and having a whistle helped!
This year Family Night is on Thursday. It will be a long day!
We have 16 kids which includes 4 sets of twins. WOW!
