Air Hockey

We all had fun playing air hockey. Chuck E Cheese at Military Hwy is a lot bigger and has more games than the one at Battlefield that we go to every month for school.

Chuck E Cheese

We went to see Chuck E Cheese to celebrate Josh, our next door neighbor's, 7th birthday party last night. We are still trying to recover from all the fun. She liked air hockey the best - even though there were no tickets from it. Jamie went to bed early tonight.

Star Reader

Jamie and her friends celebrated being Star Readers and meeting their Accelerated Reader goals last month. Jamie enjoys the food rewards - cupcakes! She is working towards earning the big chocolate Easter bunny in her class this month. She is reading books all the time including chapter books. I find her reading everywhere - under the kitchen table, on the couch, on her bed, in the bathtub! She is also "On A Roll" and learning so much.

Women in History

Do you know what all these women have in common? They are all Girl Scouts including Minnie Mouse! Even the Queen is an honorary member! The leader encouraged all the girls to be whatever she wants when she grows up! Anything is possible!

Think Green

Jamie picked out 3 green veggies to make into salad for dinner. She wore her apron and fixed and tossed the salad. She was so proud! And she ate it!
I also found a spinach and strawberry idea with a salad dressing recipe for James and I. Surprise - we ate green and even liked it!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Shamrock head kept us smiling all day - reminded me of my sister April and her goggly headbands! Think green!

Tanning a hide at Jamestown

A lady from Jamestown brought a deerskin to school for the kids and showed them how to shave the fur off with a seashell. Jamie really wanted to do that when we went to the Indian village. She saw the skin tied between two trees and took off running. She wanted to do her best to help the Indian village. She showed all the girl scouts how to tan the hide. Then she grinded the corn into a paste. She was very excited. It was so cold but she wanted to make a memory!

Jamestown - Powhatan Indians

Jamie learned about Powhatan Indians this year in 2nd grade. We saw several dressed up at Jamestown. It was so cold this weekend it snowed while we were there!!

Pretty Ladies at Jamestown

We went to Jamestown on Saturday, March 17th. Jamie wore a green shamrock headband all day. We saw lots of pretty ladies - women in history for our girl scout patch.

Is it summer yet?

Jamie and I went to the beach on Saturday since we were right near it after visiting the baby. It was so windy but felt wonderful! Jamie wanted to feel the sand on her feet and then went right into the freezing cold water. Crazy kid! Takes after her Dee Dee - haha!

Precious

Grace Eden Larson

It's hard to believe Jamie used to be this size - almost 8 years ago now!

New baby

We went to see my childhood girlfriend Margaret and her new baby on Saturday. Grace Eden Larson is 6 lbs, 14 oz. She slept most of our visit. They gave Jamie a chocolate cigar and a balloon and she was wound up.

Spring Fever

The temperature was in the 80s today. Wish it would stay that way! Sat outside to read!

I'm Allergic to Children

I went to see a specialist about my constant cough and found out I have allergies (mom said just like the rest of the family). I keep joking that I must be allergic to the children. Jamie thought I was serious. Jamie said well then what am I allergic too! ha ha

I told her one problem is the building we are in every day. Please keep us in your prayers as we try to survive another 3 months before school lets out. Jamie has been having lots of nosebleeds; she is very dehydrated. Switched to only drinking water at lunchtime. We use lots of Vaseline and baby oil at night. It is a long process to heal.

Today we sat outside to do homework and read. We needed some fresh air. I want spring/summer to come soon!

Good News Club in Public School

We had 16 kids at our first Friday Good News Club. Praying we will have more next week! God answers prayer! We walked around all the schools this summer and asked God to open a door! It all takes time but God is in control. Angie, Wanda, Fay and I were very pleased.

Wheelchair

Mrs. Tate couldn't handle one more time around the building on that skateboard. The kids loved it - it was louder than any pep rally in the halls. The principal and asst principal let the top readers / kids come up with ideas for them to do and skateboarding won. ha ha
