Cousin Lucas

King of the pumpkins; my favorite fall picture from Aunt Teresa's blog.

Today

I went to Moms in Touch this morning; I have missed it. Then to a dr's appt.
I went to school to have lunch with Jamie and they were having a pizza party in their room.
So I crashed it and Ms. Wickle let me read to them. I have been working the last 2 weeks and haven't been able to do it recently.

Mason's birthday party

Mason is now 7! We went to my high school girlfriend's house for her son Mason's scary birthday party.

We were too scared to go into the back room.

Pumpkin pie mix

Each girl made 2 little pumpkin pies (no bake). Jamie liked making it especially the sprinkles but not the taste of it.

Hot potato/pumpkin

Jamie won the hot potato/pumpkin game and she was so excited.

The Kiss

Jamie was a hershey's kiss several years ago. She is growing so much.
She wanted to wear the Hershey's kiss to the girl scout trick or treat meeting tonight. Everyone chased her and wanted to eat her. Oh well.
She was so cute.

Sunday

Sunday we went to church. Then we went to the VA Sports Hall of Fame and earned a girl scout patch. Gathered info on all the different athletes and sports. Saw mom for a few minutes but she is having a bad week. Needs extra prayer.

Sunday night was Faithweaver Friends and I had all 4 of my kids this time. I had not read my lesson but other leaders asked questions. I need to be prepared at all times.

Williamsburg/Yorktown

We drove up to Williamsburg and met Marti and Lori for lunch at Seasons. Marti's birthday is October 20th. "Every day is my birthday" is her motto. We drove to Yorktown and saw the Godspeed boat visiting from Jamestown for the 225th anniversary. There were free activities for the kids. We arrived late in the day but made the boat tour. Jamie wanted a drop spindle for making yarn like Aunt Christine. She is ready for another lesson.

It was a beautiful fall day. Forgot my camera again so I had to buy a disposable one for scrapbooking Yorktown later. Hope a few of them turn out ok.

Tree climbing

Weekend highlights

Friday afternoon we went to my friend Angel's house and Jamie rode her bike and climbed trees. Friday night we went to Triple R Ranch with our Sunday School class. I forgot my camera but it was so dark it wouldn't have mattered. We went on a hayride drawn by 2 horses. The stars were beautiful; there was no moon. We made smores over the campfire and relaxed some.

Igloo Tent

Jamie is taller than our igloo tent. Gives you a hint that I had to crawl on my belly to get into and out of it. Pray for an opening for a cabin next year.

Events

Wednesday night we are going to the pumpkin patch with Girls in Action from church.
Thursday night we are going to a girl scout meeting. Friday we are packing up the book fair by noon and then headed to the mountains to go camping for the weekend. Hope to have some pictures to post next week.

Books, books, books

Thanks to Aunt Marti for helping buy some of these wonderful books. We were also able to buy 2 Jan Brett books for Jamie's teacher, Ms. Wickle.

Reading Rainforest and Cat in the Hat

Book Fair

I worked a 12 hr day with the book fair on Monday and 8 1/2 hrs on Tuesday. We had about 700 students preview our book fair during the last two days. I am exhausted but it was worth it. I love books. Big thanks to Angel and my moms in touch friends who helped me thru it.

Pumpkin

We made pumpkin pies and a jack-o-lantern. We cooked most of Sunday afternoon.

Happy Birthday James

James got his face painted a year ago for his birthday week at Disney.

Hunt Family Fiddlers

They played each other's fiddles - it was so neat to watch them play. I love it. I try to find free concerts at the library when they come to town.

Fall Festival at Kempsville Baptist Church

I subbed all week at Jamie's school - part-time. The secretary at Jamie's school, Mrs. Walker, invited us to her church's fall festival at Kempsville Baptist. Jamie wore a pumpkin outfit and had lots of fun playing games. She picked a pumpkin from the patch. We read all the bible verses on each game's sign. Duck Pond and Cake Walk were her two favorites. She won a lot of different cakes and cookies to share with all of us for her dad's birthday tonight. We also got to hear the Hunt Family Fiddlers play! What a wonderful treat. We splurged on a Christmas CD from them.

Movie Night

We saw Winn Dixie at the church's family night movie. We had seen it before but Jamie and I still cried and held each other during the sad parts. We ate hot dogs, popcorn and cookies. It was a rainy night and a small crowd but we enjoyed it.

Mercy Me

My friend Colleen invited me to go to a Mercy Me concert with her. Mercy Me sings "I can only Imagine" which is one of my favorites. Also there was Audio Adrenaline - who sing Big, Big House! They were loud and jumping all over the place; I felt very old especially staying up til 11 pm and yawning around 9. I did enjoy the music very much. Another friend from church Tammy had front row seats (saw her as we crossed the street to Scope). She took a lot of close up pictures and promised to send me some via email. When she does, I'll try to post a few to the blog. The lead singer said he had been in the hospital - glad he was back to sing with the group.

Cinderella

Fairy Godmother was wonderful! Melanie and Jamie posing!

Our favorite photos from last October in Disney

Watkins and Haunsperger families outside the castle October 2005 in Disney, FL!
Teresa Haunsperger is James' sister. Doug is her husband and Lucas is their son.

Happy Birthday James!

James worked 1/2 day and I worked all day in the school office. Tonight was school spirit night at Texas Roadhouse so we decided to go and celebrate James' birthday early! At the end of the meal, they brought out the saddle for James to sit on and be embarrassed. The one time I don't have my camera with me - ha ha!

Homecoming

Our church celebrated 90 years of service today! Great music, great message, great food!
We bought a homecoming ornament to remember our church (on our spiritual journey).
