LBJ Library and Museum

We saw in the Austin Family magazine several historical places listed. LBJ Library has been on my list of things to find. It is also on the passport book list. I saw that it was on Red River Street; the same one that Art in the Park was on. So James drove down and found it for us since we were so close. Free parking and admission. I loved the fountain next to it. It is so much cooler by the water. There was also a special Cronkite exhibit open until January. "And That's the Way It Is . . . " was his famous line at the end of all his news broadcasts.

There was a lot of history. I liked the beautiful pink hat. I also enjoyed reading about her White House Diary - how she captured life at that moment in time. James liked the mannequin LBJ telling jokes and the fact that we were in air conditioning. James said he went there on a field trip when he was younger. Anne liked the twirling flapper girl. She was really good while we walked around. The view of Austin from the building was awesome.
