5th grade graduation

Today Jamie graduated from 5th grade. She received several participation awards such as music recorder festival, UIL (she took the social studies test) and recycling - Earth Team, etc. She also passed all 3 of the TAKS tests! The big award of the day was for being the best reader in the whole school. She read over 5,000 pages during a 12 day Read-a-thon a few months ago and they sent a trophy and had her name engraved on it. It was so exciting! I am so proud of her! Aunt Teresa and Cousin Zach came to share the moment with us. We also enjoyed some cake at the reception. The cake picture is on a different camera. I had James pick up some pink roses for our little girl who is growing up and going to middle school next year. What a special day!

The kids had a fun afternoon of soda explosions, running on corn starch, firing air cannons, shaving cream fights, ice cream making - all topped off by a washing down compliments of the City of Austin Fire Department.
