Zachary's baptism

Zachary Peter Haunsperger was baptized on Sunday, August 9th at St. Louis Catholic Church.

James and I were in the back at the cry room with Anne so we could only see from a distance in the church. Jamie sat with her grandparents and cousins up front. Travis videotaped the ceremony. There were several cameras and we all got different angles. There are several good photos on the Haunsperger blog as well.

I got to see them as they proceeded out to the back to the baptismal font.

Teresa, Doug, Lucas, Timmy and Zachary with the godparents. Jamie asked later what are godparents - basically it is another Catholic family who agrees to help in encouraging their friends and the child in the Catholic faith. (We really miss our good friends who helped us with Jamie's spiritual growth at Woodland Heights Baptist - Ms. Stephanie, Ms. Tracy, Ms. Edna and Ms. Angie - Moms in touch and Good News Club - to just name a few.)

The priest used the holy water Grandma brought back from Israel in the baptismal ceremony.

The priest made the sign of the cross in the water with the "holy" water.
